The Challenge

The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically altered the business world. With many companies closing their offices, remote work has become a necessity for employees. The significance of remote work has only grown in importance since the pandemic began, and while it offers many benefits, it also presents unique challenges for remote workers that can impact both individuals and their teams.

Aim of the Project

Team building is a critical aspect of creating and maintaining a successful and productive team, regardless of whether they are located in the same physical location or working remotely. It helps to create a positive and productive work environment, where team members feel supported, engaged, and motivated.

I designed this course to explore the unique challenges and opportunities that arise when building and leading remote teams, and provide the skills and knowledge necessary to build and sustain a high-performing remote team.

Design Specifications

I used a case study by creating a realistic scenario. The aim of this case study is to help remote workers to understand how they can build a more effective team. There are several problems in the workplace that can be solved by team building strategies, and learners try to choose team building activities to solve the problems and improve the overall productivity and success of the team. Also, I used both positive and negative feedback to guide learners on how they are going.

Each remote team has specific needs and goals. Therefore, the activities should be designed to address the specific challenges faced by the team, whether it be related to communication, motivation, or other issues. I added the most preferred activities in this course by giving examples for each one. However, I also added several sources to help the learners explore more team building activities and find the more suitable ones considering their team's needs.

I added a knowledge check section before the course summary. I wanted to make sure that the learners understand the concepts and approaches before move forward to the key takeaways of the course. Since test-enhanced learning increase the retention, preparing specific sections to check learners' understanding makes the course more effective.
